Viticulture has been the heart of Macedonia since Roman times; thanks to an abundance of sunshine as well as Mediterranean and continental breezes, wine grapes thrive in the rich, rocky soil. The country’s wine region centers along the Vardar River which bisects the country north to south. As the New York Times wrote, “Macedonia’s best face is outside its cities, where snowcapped mountains, picturesque lakes and village hidden in steep valleys evoke a lost kingdom”

Day 1: Airport Skopje - Skopje

After arrival in Skopje, we will begin with tour of the capitol. River Vardar divides the city into two parts. Old and traditional, ottoman architecture with museums, churches, mosques, hammam and An in the right bank of the river are witness of the old history. But, sightseeing is not finished here because the famous Stone Bridge connect the old with new part of the city. In the other bank of river Vardar are square, pedestrian street, trade centers, restaurants, cafes and House of Mother Teresa. Overnight in Skopje

Day 2: Skopje - Stobi Winery - Lake Veles

Morning departure towards Central part of Macedonia and wine region. First, we will visit Archaeological site Stobi, located in the heart of Macedonia, on the crossroads between Aegean World and the Central Balkan, during the whole period of its existence it was a place where cultural achievements of the ancient world gathered in a unique way. No more history it’s time for gourmet food and high quality wine. First winery in our program will be the most modern one - Stobi Winery. Walking through the winery and heard about beginnings of the winery and production of wine. After visit and wine tasting accompanied with tasty food we will continue to our hotel for overnight on the artificial lake near city of Veles.

Day 3: Lake Veles - Tikves Winery - Demir Kapia

Heading south and driving through the vineyards to reach city of Kavadarci and the largest winery in South Eastern Europe - Tikves. For more than 125 years, the sky, land, sun and vineyards in the south of Europe each with its own share, have been a part of the story about Tikveš wines. Enjoy a narrative on the winery’s history and a stroll through the wine cellar, and get a feel of the locality’s spirit and character by tasting the finest wines by Tikveš. Tour is finished in the authentic restaurant of the winery where we going to savour traditional Macedonian dishes and outstanding international specialties, complemented with premium wines by Tikveš Winery. Journey continue to Demir Kapia for overnight.

Day 4: Popova Kula Winery - Skopje

Start our last day with tour through Popova Kula Winery. With the production of 650 thousand liters yearly Popova Kula is one of the leading winery in Macedonia. Wine and dine on the balcony overlooking the vineyards with sun - dappled mountain in the distance. Journey comes to end with your departure to airport.
