Day 1: Sofia
Upon arrival at Sofia, meet up with the local representative and proceed with a short visit to the National History museum storing over 650,000 objects connected to archeology, history and ethnography. Proceed with a walking tour of Sofia with visits to the ruins of Serdica - Roman fortress walls; St George Rotunda, the oldest building in Sofia; St Sofia Basilica, the oldest active church which gave the city its name; St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world; National Theatre and many more historical sites from ancient times alongside the modern sites of cosmopolitan city life. Rest of the day is free for leisure and individual walk in the center.
Day 2: Sofia - Plovdiv - Sofia
Today is a full day sightseeing to Plovdiv -European cultural capital in 1999. This ancient city with 3000 years of history is one of the oldest cities in Europe. Walk along the Old Town of Plovdiv with its unique charm, narrow cobbled streets that admire the silence and tranquility of this historical town. Be impressed by its elegant old houses with painting facades and Churches, the Roman Amphitheatre built by Emperor Trajan, the Roman Stadium. Overnight at Sofia.
Day 3: Sofia - Tikves Winery - Bitola - Ohrid
Today journey will take us to Macedonia. Driving to the eastern and central part of the country to reach city of Kavadarci known by his production of wine and grapes. Visit one of the largest winery in South Eastern Europe - Tikves, Kavadarci. Proceed to the second largest city of Macedonia - city of Bitola. Walking through the longest pedestrian street in the country, you will feel high level of culture in the traditional style, surrounded with old architecture. Very old mosques, churches, clock tower, trade center from XV cen. and old bazar will take your attention, so you will enjoy in every second spent there. Lot of cafes and restaurants are in the program :). The last destination for this day will be city of Ohrid.
Day 4: Ohrid - St Naum - Ohrid
We will start this morning with sightseeing of Ohrid who is like journey through the centuries where you can feel the spirit of every civilization which has been in Ohrid during the 2500 years long history. In three hours walking tour you can see a lot of monuments and hear a lot of stories about the Churches museums, fortress, ancient theater, architecture and crafts. Only 30 kilometers of Ohrid on the most southern point of the Ohrid Lake built on the high rock over the lake is Monastery dedicated to Saint Naum. Reconstructed church from the 16th century with his remaining from the century before together with springs of the river Black Drim makes this attraction the most visited place in Macedonia. Tonight we will enjoy in delicious food accompanied with Macedonian Folk show and live music.
Day 5: Ohrid - Skopje
Day will begin with transfer to the capitol. Proceed with the sightseeing of Skopje River Vardar divides the city into two parts. Old and traditional, ottoman architecture with museums, churches, mosques, hammam and An in the right bank of the river are witness of the old history. But, sightseeing is not finished here because the famous Stone Bridge connect the old with new part of the city. In the other bank of river Vardar are square, pedestrian street, trade centers, restaurants, cafes and House of Mother Therese… Free time until departure.
